Frequently asked questions
Answers about ordering, preparation, ingredients, allergens, ambient storage, Best Before guidance, delivery and claims. Product-specific information and the supplied package label take priority over general guidance.
What does HANI Foods make?
HANI Foods is a Brisbane-based brand focused on Telugu vegetarian sweets and savouries for everyday treats, gifting and gatherings.
Is the HANI menu vegetarian?
HANI’s current menu is vegetarian. Vegetarian does not automatically mean vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free or allergen-free. Review the individual product information before ordering.
Where can I see the ingredients used in a product?
Each product page is designed to show the current ingredient list and allergen information. The physical label supplied with the product is also important. If information is missing or unclear, contact HANI before ordering.
How are HANI foods prepared?
Preparation varies by product and may include roasting, frying in sunflower oil, cooking with jaggery or sugar syrup, or shaping with ingredients such as ghee. Product pages may provide general preparation information without publishing proprietary recipe ratios or detailed methods.
What does Ghee (Milk) mean on the ingredient list?
Ghee is derived from milk, so HANI identifies it as Ghee (Milk) in the ingredient list and declares Milk in the separate Contains statement. HANI does not make a lactose-free or low-lactose claim for products containing commercially sourced ghee.
Do HANI products contain nuts, peanuts, sesame, milk, wheat or other allergens?
Some products do. Check the current Ingredients and Contains statements for the exact item you are purchasing. Individual allergens such as Milk, Wheat, Peanut, Sesame, Almond, Cashew, Pistachio and Walnut are identified where applicable.
What does ‘May be present’ mean?
A ‘May be present’ statement is precautionary information about a genuine assessed risk of unintended allergen cross-contact. It is not used as a blanket substitute for ingredient controls or mandatory allergen declarations.
Can I order if I have a severe food allergy?
Review the current ingredient, Contains and any May be present information before ordering. If suitability cannot be clearly confirmed, contact HANI before purchase. Do not assume a product or preparation area is allergen-free unless HANI explicitly confirms that for the specific circumstances.
Are HANI products gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free or nut-free?
Only rely on one of these claims when it is explicitly stated for that product and supported by the current recipe, supplier information and preparation controls. HANI will not infer these claims simply because a product is vegetarian.
Can ingredients or suppliers change?
Yes. Ingredient brands, suppliers and recipes may change. Review the current product information and package label each time you order, particularly if you manage an allergy or intolerance.
Do HANI products require refrigeration or reheating?
No. The current HANI product range does not require refrigeration or reheating. Store products in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and moisture. Keep the container tightly closed after opening and follow the package Best Before date and any product-specific storage directions.
What does Best Before mean for HANI products?
HANI’s current general quality standard is Best Before within 14 days of preparation when the product is stored as directed. The package carries the batch-specific calendar date. Best Before is primarily a quality date, not a substitute for checking the product’s condition and storage instructions.
How should I store products after opening?
Keep the product tightly sealed in its original package or another clean, food-safe airtight container, away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and moisture. Follow any product-specific after-opening guidance on the label.
How do shipping, delivery and pickup work?
Available fulfilment choices, charges and instructions are shown at checkout. Check your delivery address, contact information and collection details carefully. Tracking is provided where supported by the selected service.
What if my parcel is delayed, lost or damaged in transit?
Contact HANI with your order number. For damage, keep the parcel and affected product where safe and provide photos of the outer packaging, label, internal packaging and affected item where reasonably available. HANI may investigate with the carrier and will provide any remedy required by applicable law.
What if an item is missing or incorrect?
Contact HANI with the order number and details of the missing or incorrect item. HANI may review packing, inventory, batch, pickup or delivery records and will provide an appropriate remedy where the claim is established.
What is HANI’s returns and refunds approach?
Because food products cannot ordinarily be restocked or resold once supplied, HANI does not offer change-of-mind returns or refunds. This does not limit rights under the Australian Consumer Law where a product fails a consumer guarantee.
What information may HANI request for a quality, transit or refund claim?
HANI may reasonably request proof of purchase, the order number, affected quantity, a description of the issue, photos, packaging and label information, batch/date information and relevant tracking details. These requests help verify claims and do not remove genuine consumer rights.
What happens if a claim is knowingly false or duplicated?
A knowingly false, fabricated or materially misleading claim does not create a right to a refund, replacement or credit. HANI may use legitimate order, batch, payment, packing, pickup and delivery records when assessing a claim or responding to a chargeback. A customer cannot recover the same loss twice.
Do you accept gifting, celebration or larger orders?
Yes, subject to product availability and preparation capacity. Larger, custom, festival or time-sensitive orders should be discussed early because lead times and agreed order terms may differ from ordinary retail orders.
Product names, photographs and previous purchases are not substitutes for current ingredient and allergen information. Check the product page and the label supplied with your order. If you have a severe allergy and the information is unclear, contact HANI before ordering.
